Hello! First of all, look at these chickens:
Phyllis Non-Earl and Perla are my new chicken ladies and they are a joy to have around the yard.
Secondly: I have just returned from CAKE- The Chicago Alternative Comics Expo, where I spoke on a panel about teaching comics to children, and gave out stickers and postcards for Calling Dr. Laura.
Right before CAKE, I got a great stand up banner from
DWA Trade Show & Expo Services. They have some very earth friendly banners there, so I recommend it.
Here's a photo of the loot I procured during the festival:
My trip to Chicago for CAKE was funded by a generous grant from RACC: The Regional Arts & Culture Council.
Speaking of Calling Dr. Laura, you can
pre-order it now through your local bookstore or
Powells.com. Stay tuned. I'm trying to cook up some sort of pre-order incentives for you, but I'm still thinking about what that might be.
I was just wandering around the internet and remembered that a couple of years ago when Michelle Tea was in town, she did a fashion
blog post for Ironing Board Collective about her weekend in Portland, and posted a photo of my shoes. Here are the shoes in question, procured from my time working at a used clothing store in Kansas City.
Lastly, let's talk about PET PORTRAITS! Pet portraits are currently frozen as I catch up after a long spring of teaching & traveling. When they are available again, I will post on here. In the meantime, I am going to get a waiting list together of people who would like to be the first to know when the schedule is open again. If you would like to be on this list, please
email me!
Okay. That's all for now. I have to go finish some pet portraits & start working on this year's split with Clutch McBastard.
xoxo
